The only UK Christmas market open for 55 days – with ice skating path, Ferris wheel & toboggan run
NOTTINGHAM'S Christmas market is set to open today - and it has an ice-skating path, a Ferris wheel, and a toboggan slide.
The winter attraction will run for 55 days this year, with a variety of attractions, activities, entertainment, food, and drinks on offer.
Nottingham's Winter Wonderland opened on November 7, and it will continue to welcome visitors until December 31, 2023.
Among several rides and attractions, there will also be an ice skating rink, an ice skating path, and a series of wooden stalls.
While the market's ice skating rink sits at ground level next to the wooden stalls, there's also a covered ice skating path where visitors can skate around the festive attraction.
Those who want to skate should book their session in advance online.

The ice skating rink will be open on most days from 10am until 10pm, except for Christmas Day when the market will be closed.
Meanwhile, the market's Toboggan Slide has returned for another year - with no pre-booking required.
Other festive attractions include a giant Ferris Wheel and 70 wooden market stalls selling food and drink, as well as handmade gifts.
For older visitors, several places serve alcoholic drinks like the Alpine Ice Bar and a ski-themed chalet bar.

The Christmas market will be open from November 7, 2023, to December 31, 2023.
A study conducted by online retailer found that the Nottingham Christmas was the longest-running winter attraction of its kind in the country.
While Edinburgh's Christmas market is open for 51 days and Birmingham's Christmas market is open for 53 days, both of these are eclipsed by Notthingham Christmas market, which is open for 55 days.
Birmingham Christmas Market opened to the public last week, while Edinburgh Christmas Market will open on November 17.
While the Christmas market is free to enter, visitors will need to pay for rides and any purchases they make at market stalls.
The Christmas market is set on Old Market Square in the heart of the city centre, and it's just a 10-minute walk from the city's main train station.
The east midlands city can also be reached on public transport too, with direct trains operating from major UK cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Cardiff.
Nottingham is also an hour's drive away from Birmingham, and it's a three-hour drive away from London.
Hotels in the city are extremely affordable in November and December too.
Sun Online Travel have found an overnight stay at the Dwell City Living, a studio apartment, from £87 per night.
The Midlands market has also received positive reviews on TripAdvisor too.
One person wrote: "I thought this was amazing. It was definitely the best Christmas Market that I've ever been to, I had a great time ice skating and everything was just so Christmasy."
Another added: "I loved the place, the ice skating was so much fun and the place does fill you up with Christmas joy,"
There are plenty of other Christmas markets in the UK too, including the Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham, which is said to be the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany.
