A MAN was left baffled by what he was served as a "continental breakfast" at a hotel - and people are horrified.

The diner shared a snap of the bizarre breakfast on a Reddit forum about bad food.

He said: "This is the 'Continental Breakfast' at the hotel I'm staying at."

The snap showed a shrunken yellow omelette, a boiled egg and two deathly-looking sausage patties crowded on a paper plate - along with a sachet of Cholula hot sauce and plastic cutlery.

The continental breakfast was introduced by hotels in the US as a lighter alternative to the full English or American pancakes.

Reddit users were shocked by the grim continental breakfast which the man was served.

One said: "Ask them which continent."
