Top budget hotel chain to open 100 new sites across London – and rooms start from £38 a night

MORE than 100 new hotels are set to be built across London by one of the most popular chains in the UK.

And with rooms as cheap as £38, it means a lot more options for Brits wanting a cheap city break.

Travelodge revealed the plans with a number of hotels already under construction.

This includes near the Oval Cricket Ground, as well as Bermondsey, Bekenham and Chiswick.

However, with another 96 planned, this will more than double the amount of Travelodges in London.

Steve Bennett, Travelodge, Chief Property & Development Officer, said: “With over 80 Travelodges in London, we now operate in 31 out the 33 London boroughs and are one of London’s biggest hotel chains.

"We are currently building four more new London hotels, including our 600th Travelodge at the Kia Oval Cricket Ground, but we still have room for further growth in London.

“Nowadays, more Britons are choosing to stay in a budget hotel than any other hotel type, but London cannot fulfil this growing trend as it has a shortage of good quality and low cost accommodation.

“Therefore, to help fill this growing gap, we are actively searching for over 100 new hotel sites across the Capital. "
