The tiny high street steakhouse crowned one of TripAdvisor’s top UK’s restaurants
ONE of the best restaurants in the UK can be found in one of the country's lesser-visited towns, according to TripAdvisor.
The public reviews site analysed 12 months' worth of reviews, from June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023, to find the world's best restaurants in their annual Best of the Best awards.
From there, they broke those restaurants down into different countries and categories, including 'Everyday Eats' restaurants, of which in Doncaster took top spot in the UK.
The best of the best awards are handed out to restaurants with a high volume of "above-and-beyond reviews and opinions" from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period.
Each winner has passed the site's trust and safety standards, with fewer than 1 per cent of their 8 million listings receiving the coveted prizes.
However, La Boca is not only among the lucky few, it came out on top of the pile after a successful year of reviews.

The restaurant is "a family run restaurant that strives to create an ambience that elevates any dining experience" according to its website.
It offers a range of dining options, from quiet lunchtime meals to "music-fuelled evenings with quality food, wine and cocktails".
More than 2,500 reviews have been left on the website for the restaurant, with more than 2,400 of those giving the full five stars.
One reviewer wrote: "This steak restaurant truly excels in every aspect.

"The service is impeccable, the management is absolutely delightful and food is simply exquisite."
Another said: "Never fails to impress. Went to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary and everything about our experience was great!
"From the food to the service, everything was amazing, no doubt returning again soon."
A third added: "The service and food was second to none. One of the nicest places we have ever been. Very much would recommend."
Steakhouses in Yorkshire proved to be very popular with reviewers this year, with in Middlesbrough taking second spot on the Everyday Eats list.
Two Edinburgh establishments also made the top 10, with Makars gourmet mash bar and Dine taking fourth and ninth spots, respectively.

Elsewhere, The Old Stamp House in Ambleside was named the UK's best fine dining restaurant, beating Paul Ainsworth at No.6 in Padstow and Edinburgh's The Kitchin, which finished second and third.
Ganesha Authentic Indian Cuisine in Bristol came top of the UK's Hidden Gem list, ahead of the likes of Osteria in Shrewsbury and Ice & Slice at The Kiln in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

Other categories included best date night restaurants, best family-friendly restaurants and best vegetarian-friendly restaurants.
Uig Sands Restaurant in Timsgarry, Isle of Lewis, Bella Italia in Brandon, Suffolk and Mallow in London took top spot in each of those respective categories for the UK.
