The easy way to avoid getting stuck in long queues at airport security – & everyone can do it
A TRAVEL expert has revealed the easy trick holidaymakers can use to avoid getting stuck in long queues at airport security.
During peak hours, passengers flying out of UK airports can get stuck in long queues at airport security gates.
But one travel expert has shared her top tip for navigating lengthy queues during peak travel times.
In an article in , Katy Maclure, editor of The Detour, a weekly newsletter from Jack's Flight Club, (an app that finds cheap flight deals), shared her nifty trick.
She said: "You can't control how long the queues will be, but you can check in advance to see how many other flights are due to depart around the same time, and allow extra time if it's looking busy – this is a particularly good idea during peak summer travel."
To keep an eye on security queues before you even arrive at the airport, Katy recommended using the app MiFlight.

The travel app tells users how long their expected wait time will be in the airport queue.
It means passengers can better plan their arrival time, while avoiding lengthy queues in the process.
However, the trick may not work as effectively at larger airports where lots of flights regularly depart at the same time.
And this isn't the only trick holidaymakers can use to cut their wait time down at the security gates.
Last year, another travel expert revealed that going left at airport security checks could mean you get through faster.
The expert explained that people subconsciously pick security lines depending on their dominant hand.
Because most people are right-handed, queues on the left are likely to be a lot less busy.
Meanwhile, a security expert explained how you can tell if your queue is going to be slow - so you know to pick the other one.
They said: "Often if there is more than one security office at an x-ray machine, there's a chance that one of the employees is a trainee.
"So you could be risking a line that goes a little slower."
Here are some other ways to speed through long airport queues.
