Brand new UK attraction opening this week that is ‘like a video game in real life’
A BRAND new attraction is opening in the UK this week and it's been compared to a real life video game.
Standard go-karting lacks the fun elements of games like Mario Kart where players race one another through fantastical worlds and can use crazy weapons and obstacles to hamper their opponents.
However, Chaos Karts, which is set to open in Manchester on September, 1 promises an experience that's a bit more like a virtual game than ordinary karting.
State-of-the-art technology is used to "take gaming to the next level" according to the Chaos Karts website, which promises to get people "racing in real life".
A virtual world will be digitally projected around racers, creating an augmented reality experience, without the need for headsets or personal screens.
Those worlds could be anywhere, from a beach to space and everything in between.

There are also varying track designs, complete with fully reactive and drivable electric karts.
Games contain usable in-kart power ups and weapons that can be utilised to halt your fellow racers' progress.
Those weapons include a laser gun, a big hammer, a bomb and a speed boost to help competitors shoot and speed their way to victory.
Despite having guns and hammers, the experience is incredibly safe, with built-in collision-reduction technology and other high tech safety features in place.

No helmets or overalls are required for participants, as they would be with other karting experiences due to those safety measures.
The website says: "Race your friends, compete, and get ahead with power-ups on the brand-new Chaos Karts immersive, themed race circuits in Manchester, opening this autumn.
"Chaos Karts transports you and your friends to immersive virtual worlds, where you can race through futuristic landscapes, overcome virtual obstacles, and unleash fantastical weapons ... It’s like a video game in real life."
Manchester Evening News compared the experience to Mario Kart after trying it out, explaining exactly how it worked.
: "It honestly feels like you're inside a game of Mario Kart. Each player has their own kart and just like Mario, you get to pick your own avatar and even the colour of your vehicle.
"One minute you're racing around in a desert, the next you're in space, trying to avoid the meteors crashing around you.
"The whole time you are racing, you're collecting points and using your weapons to battle it out with your opponents, who in turn are launching their weapons right back at you."
Tickets can be booked from £22 per person via the Chaos Karts website, with some days already sold out.
Drivers have to be a minimum age of 11 and be at least 5ft tall (1.5m) to take part.
