A BEACH in the UK has been dubbed the "Hawaii of the North" thanks to its stretches of golden sands and waves.
Far more people are looking to find places to holiday closer to home this year, with trips abroad becoming increasingly expensive.
One place that could fool people into thinking they're abroad is up in Scotland, the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides has been compared to Hawaii in recent years.
The Scottish island earned its title as "Hawaii of the North" thanks to its waves, which are popular with surfers.
According to the , "Tiree provides a tranquil paradise for holidaymakers to relax and unwind.
"With white-shell beaches and turquoise waters, Balephuil Bay is the perfect place for a swim and a firm favourite for surfers."
Tiree also has more hours of annual sunlight than any other location in the UK.
And it's not just travel experts who've raved about the UK's very own Hawaii in recent years, holidaymakers have taken to TripAdvisor too.
In a review, one person wrote: "Hawaii of the North, indeed! This place is spectacular.
"It has crystal clear, sapphire, waters surround pure white, unspoiled sand beaches."

In total, the Isle of Tiree only has around 650 people living there.
However, tourists often visit during the summer, which increases the island's population.
There are several beaches on the island including Balevullin Beach, Scarinish, and Gott Bay.
The island is also home to several museums like An Iodhlann, which delves into Tiree's past, and the Hynish Heritage Trail.
Other attractions include activities like hiking, walking routes, and several watersports.
Tiree can be reached via a ferry service from Oban, with journeys taking three hours and 45 minutes.
Loganair operates direct flights between Glasgow and Tiree with prices starting from £59 for a one-way ticket.
Despite the small size of the island, there are a range of accommodation options for holidaymakers to choose from including hotels and campsites.
