PERFECT PACKING

ONE of the joys of cruising is enjoying multiple destinations – but that can make it daunting deciding what to pack.

We asked some of our favourite cruise companies for tips . . .

TOM MAHONEY, Cunard: Pack a small carry-on bag with items such as travel documents, swimwear and comfortable shoes.

This will allow you to make the most of your first day on board while the crew take care of your main luggage.

BERNARD CARTER, Oceania Cruises: For peace of mind pack medical essentials in hand luggage.

HAYLEY MOORE, Princess Cruises: Check if there will be any formal nights, as you may like to get glammed up for an evening and feel special.

KATJA HILDEBRANDT, Riviera Travel: Few river cruise ships will have a laundry service or ironing facilities, so take clothes that don’t crease easily.

LYNNE SMITH, Marella Cruises: A multi-country adapter is always useful as plug sockets vary between cruise lines.

KAREN FARNDELL, Holland America Line: Take binoculars to spot all the activity at sea and on arrival at your different destinations.

LUCIA ROWE, A-ROSA River Cruises: Plan for the season you are travelling and pack comfortable walking shoes for exploring on land.
