I’m a flight attendant – there’s one plane seat where you should never sleep… it’s filthy

A FLIGHT attendant has told how there is one seat on planes where you should never sleep.

Cabin crew member Tommy Cimato says some parts of the plane are far dirtier than others - and should be avoided.

He claims the filthiest places on the plane are the window seats.

He explained on TikTok: "Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window.

“You are not the only one that has done that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.”

However, even if you shouldn't lean on the window, the window seat is actually the best seat to pick if you want to avoid getting sick, according to a study.

The study, which saw 10 scientists analyse five cross-country flights during flu season, found that sitting in the same row, or in the row in front or behind someone who is sick, are most likely going to also fall sick.

If they are sat in the aisle seat, then they could also infect everyone else in the aisle seats too.

Cimato previously warned against wearing shorts on a plane because the chairs aren't regularly cleaned.

He said: "Don't or try not to wear shorts when you're on an aeroplane.

"You never know how clean it's gonna be, so if you have pants [trousers], you're going have less germs."

Then, as if aeroplane bathrooms didn't stress us out enough, the flight attendant also recommended not pushing the flush button with bare hands.

He said: "It's honestly just super unsanitary and pretty gross, so when you flush, use a napkin or tissue that's in the lavatory."

While you're engrossed in a movie or a good book, it can be easy to forget to drink water throughout the flight - and the attendant was quick to stress just how important it is to stay hydrated.

"Don't forget to drink water," he said. "You wanna have about 16oz for every flight you go on, so keep that in mind."

Finally, Tommy urged passengers not to be shy about asking attendants for help if they need it.

He added: "Let a flight attendant know if you're feeling sick. So if you need food, water, or an air sickness bag, please feel free to let us know."
