I’m a flight attendant and here’s what we really think when you ask us for extra food

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed how they really feel when passengers ask them for extra food.

The cabin crew member, who claimed to work for Southwest Airlines, said it always depends on how you ask.

Answering questions on Reddit, one person asked: "Do you get upset when people ask for extra snack mix and/or brownie brittle."

However, the flight attendant replied: "Nope, I will give you as many as you like. Just say please and thank you.

They added: "I honestly think we don't really care if you ask for more than one snack. At least I don’t.

"We get restocked on every provisioning city and we definitely have extra bags all the time.

"So please don't be afraid to ask. Whenever someone asked me for an extra snack I give them like three or four."

Another Southwest flight attendant chimed in, saying: "If somebody makes it known that they like the snack mixes, I happily bring them a very large handful of them every time.

"It’s no bother at all bringing them all at once."

Of course this all depends on the airline - budget carriers are unlikely to give away any free food.

Another flight attendant previously said you can ask for a whole extra meal - but it depends when you ask.

The flight attendant revealed that "any extra food is mostly dumped" so they prefer the grub to be eaten.

She said: "Ask after [the] whole service is over, [so once] everyone is served.

"Be polite and submissive rather than demanding while asking, it makes the difference, especially when more people are asking and the crew has a right to decide."

And another flight attendant revealed the six freebies holidaymakers can nab on a flight including a cockpit tour.

Just make sure to leave your uneaten snacks on the plane - as they could get you in trouble with the police when you land, depending which country you are in.
