The best waterpark holidays to keep you cool this summer
THANKS to the UK heatwave; it seems as if summer has finally arrived.
We’ve gathered up some of the best hotels with water parks onsite that will keep you cool even in the most scorching climates.
The best destinations are all across Europe, so there's something to suit everyone's taste.
Limassol, Cyprus
The City of Dreams Mediterranean in the coastal region of Limassol in Cyprus is extremely cool (in both senses of the word).
It’s brand spanking new and features a casino, adventure park, spa and endless dining options from Mediterranean cuisine to pan-Asian delights.
But the AquaWorld water park here is where you’ll want to head. It not only has several swirling slides but it’s also got a Waverider surfing machine (although little ones can use it for bodyboarding too).

Antalya, Turkey
The water park at Land of Legends Kingdom hotel in Turkey is probably better described as a water world thanks to its vast splash activities on offer.
On top of the usual plunge slides and rapid rides, the water park is home to a wave shock pool, surf simulator and an “experience” section that has dolphin swims, sharks swims and diving trips.
It’s a little on the pricey side at £2,292pp for seven nights’ all-inclusive, but for that, you’ll have access to everything within the resort, including its theme park, cinema, water shows and restaurants.

Alcudia, Majorca
The little ones certainly won’t miss out at the ultra family-friendly Club Mac Alcudia Resort in the town of Alcúdia in northern Majorca.
On top of swirling flumes and multi-lane race slides that would keep teenagers busy for hours, there are shallow splash parks with mini flumes and poolside climbing frames complete with water fountains for the tiny tots.
Four-person rooms are functional and geared up for families, plus there are three buffet restaurants and seven bars on site.

Catalonia, Spain
If your idea of fun is lounging on a rubber ring and slowly bobbing around a lazy river in the afternoon sun, then Aquasplash Estival Resort in Spain’s Costa Dorada is for you.
It’s got three pools onsite, but the waterpark is a ten-minute walk away, so you still have the option of a tranquil nap on a lounger with a cocktail in hand.
The buffet restaurant serves a mix of classic dishes, while the two snack bars serve burgers, hot dogs and salads.
- Seven nights’ all-inclusive with flights from Gatwick - on July 7
Dalaman, Turkey
There are 13 water slides at Orka Sunlife Resort And Aquapark, but speed isn’t the best thing about them – it’s the views you’ll be treated to as you’re whizzing down.
The hotel is perched at the top of a lush green hill in Olu Deniz and is immersed in tall mountains, not too far from the ocean.
If you’re looking to relax while the kids hurl themselves down a twisted flume, pop to the spa, which has a Turkish Bath and shock pool among the usual sauna, steam room and treatment rooms.
- Seven nights all-inclusive with flights from Manchester - on July 13
Corfu, Greece
You’ll get the best of both worlds at Grecotel LUXME Costa Botanica on the Greek island of Corfu.
The water park overlooks a 1km sandy stretch of Blue Flag beach, and with a laid-back wellness ethos, this is just as much an adult break as it is for little ones.
Expect top-notch restaurants, plus à pâtisserie-chocolate and crêperie-gelateria and premium cocktails and healthy juices delivered straight to your sun lounger.
