Blow for Brits as price of Easter holiday staycation soars by up to 43 per cent
THE price of an Easter holiday staycation has soared by up to 43 per cent since last year, analysis suggests.
Families face forking out an average of more than £950 for seven nights’ accommodation in the UK while children are off school.
A typical holiday let cost £112 a night last Easter but has jumped by more than a fifth to £136.
Prices have rocketed from £79 a night to £139 in Plymouth, Devon.
Visitors to Oxford face a rise of more than 30 per cent compared with last Easter.
In London, Cambridge and Liverpool there have been rises of up to 29 per cent for rentals and B&Bs.

Prices peak on April 1 — the first day most children are off — and surge on the final weekend before they return to school.
One night in Brighton jumps to £249 on April 14, according to analysis by , using data from bookings via Airbnb and Vrbo.
A spokesman said: “Families will be looking forward to getting away.
“But it’s shocking to see that just six nights away this Easter will set you back £800 for accommodation alone — especially given so many of us consider staying in the UK to be cheaper than heading abroad.”
