A CITY in the UK has been named one of the most underrated travel destinations in the world.
has revealed the 14 destinations that should be on your list this year that aren't the usual tourist spots.
Beating places in Greece and Indonesia, the city of Plymouth was voted the most underrated in the UK.
Also known as Britain's Ocean City, it came in 7th place for most underrated in the world, and was praised for its art scene and rich history.
This includes the new free art gallery The Box and the £7.6m renovation of Market Hall, which offers immersive experiences.
Plymouth is also home to the Grade II Art Deco Tinside Lido, which first opened in 1935 and overlooks the ocean.

Boozers can visit the Plymouth Gin distillery too, which is the oldest working distillery in England, while the Royal William Yard, first built in 1825, has lots of restaurants and bars to choose from.
And make sure to visit the restaurant Ocean View at The Dome which was recently voted as one of the UK's most romantic places to eat.
If you fancy a stay, the new £9million Moxy hotel is set to open this year, although both Travelodge and Premier Inn have bargain rooms for around £30 a night.
Time Out’s Deputy Travel Editor, Grace Beard explained that destinations on the list were chosen for offering a "local, authentic vibe" and are "often overlooked by travellers focusing on the usual tick-list destinations".

She added: "Not only do lesser-visited destinations mean fewer crowds and the opportunity to feel that you are discovering somewhere off the beaten track – they can sometimes be more affordable for eating, drinking and doing activities compared with their well-worn counterparts."
Time Out’s UK Editor, Huw Oliver, explained why Plymouth was added to the list, saying: "Plymouth doesn’t cross a lot of people’s minds when it comes to planning a seaside getaway or a city break, but it should.
"It offers an idyllic weekend away, right on the stunning Devon coast, and best of all, you’ll likely have a lot of it to yourself.”
There are even hopes that Plymouth Airport could reopen, having been closed for a decade.
Plymouth City Council leader Richard Bingley told : "It’s almost disrespectful to not offer an airport to people who want to come here to trade or visit.”
“Plymouth as a city needs an airport and no stone will be left unturned until that happens.”
Plymouth also wants to become a major cruise port with cruise lines such as P&O, Saga, Cunard, and Ambassador looking into launching from the city.
And a tiny island off the coast of Plymouth has confirmed plans to build two hotels, a museum and a well-being centre on the island.
