PLANE WEIRD

Passenger stunned by traveller’s very rude behaviour on flight

A PASSENGER was left stunned after the person next to her on a flight brought something very strange onboard.

It's not unusual for people to annoy others on planes, but a recent passenger tested the limits of his fellow flyers' patience with an utterly bizarre decision.

One of the main things that can annoy other passengers is taking smelly or unpleasant foods on board.

However, this man stunned other people on board his flight by opening up a pizza box, filled with a full rack of ribs, and several side dishes.

The person sat next to the hungry passenger, Lanna Tolland (), took to Twitter to share her disbelief at what was going on.

Sharing a picture of her seat mate's snack, she tweeted: "No chance is the guy next to me eating a full rack of ribs plus sides on this plane."

has since been seen more than five million times, with plenty of people similarly stunned by the man's choice of meal.

One suggested he be sent "straight to jail" while another said it was "nasty behaviour".

A third added: "There's a list of foods that it should be illegal to sell at the airport."

However, for all the people who were not happy with the man's behaviour, others were actually impressed.

One person said: "He is my new hero."

Another simply wrote: "Legend".

Flight attendants have previously weighed in on this debate before, with one revealing which foods passengers shouldn't bring on planes.

Shanie Peralta, a flight attendant and a member of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, explained her top tips for passengers and the things people should and should not pack for a flight to eat.

Shanie, who worked for a regional carrier between the US and the Caribbean, told : "It is a small minority of people who bring food on-board, but you do get offenders who like to bring egg salad or tuna sandwiches."

There is also one food that is so pungent that almost every airline won't allow it on their planes.

The durian is actually quite popular in some Asian cuisines, but on aircraft, it's banned.

In fact, most carriers won't even let you bring the fruit in your checked luggage, in case its odour escapes into the cabin.

China Southern Airlines, who provide some flights for British Airways, specifically list the fruit on its list of prohibited items, due to its unpleasant scent.

They aren't the only ones either, with Air New Zealand's website advising: "durian fruit cannot be carried, either on your person, in carry-on or in checked in luggage.”

According to , only budget Philippines airline Cebu Pacific say that they will let passengers bring the fruit on board, provided it is stored in the hold and not in the cabin.

Their website states: "Odorous or foul smelling fruits (like durian) will only be accepted as checked baggage."

And this passenger was slammed for eating smelly eggs while waiting for a flight.
