Flight attendant never travels without clever item that keeps her safe when staying in hotels
A FLIGHT attendant has revealed the clever item that she uses to stay safe when staying in hotel rooms.
Despite them having rooms with lockable doors and in-room safes, hotels are still not always the safest places to stay.

That's why flight attendant and Tiktoker takes an alarmed door stop with her whenever she flies.
In she shared on Tiktok, she showed how the alarm not only stops people from getting into your room, but also how it alerts others about the attempted break in.
She said: "If you stay in hotels or Airbnbs a lot, this is perfect.
"You place it underneath your door, but it's very sensitive.

"It has three levels of volume and trust me, this will wake up the deepest sleeper if anyone tries to get in your room.
"This isn't sponsored. I got this on my own. It's very loud."
The video has since been seen more than 5 million times, with some other users also sharing their experiences of the alarm.
One commented: "My daughter and I were in Keystone, CO for a wedding and in the middle of the night our doorstop alarm went off. We heard footsteps running away! so scary!"

Another cabin crew member revealed the safety routine she follows whenever she checks into a hotel - and she has urged other females to do the same.
In a video posted to Tiktok, user shows what she does to make sure she's safe every time she checks into a hotel room.
First, Erie is seen propping the door open with her suitcase, so that she can get out quickly if she needs to.
She then checks cupboards and under the bed to make sure no one is waiting for her in her room.
The flight attendant then retrieves her luggage and locks the door using a special lock.
While closing the door, a caption reads: "Safety always comes first.
"I have had people attempt to break into my room on layovers so I always travel with this."
An unnamed woman also shared her safety tips on Mumsnet, saying she had been a member of the cabin crew for more than a decade.
Whenever she stayed at a hotel, she said she always knocks on the door before entering, even if you think you are the only one with a key card - and use the door chain even when getting changed.
She explained: "I used to be a flight attendant [and] spent more than my fair share of nights alone in hotels.
"I have woken up many times to someone opening my door with an electronic key that was programmed for my room.
"I learned to dress and sleep with the chain on the door at all times."
