Inside Lord of the Rings ‘Hobbit House’ which you can rent on Airbnb for just £5 a night

LORD of the Rings fans can travel to Middle Earth and live like a hobbit for just £5 a night.

The Hobbiton set in New Zealand that was home to the likes of Martin Freeman’s young Bilbo Baggins in the films is listed on Airbnb.

Guests will get their own hobbit hole underground house and enjoy an evening feast with plenty of ale at The Green Dragon Inn.

They can have their own Second Breakfast, and get a behind-the-scenes private tour of the set.

The property is usually open to visitors, typically costing NZ$225 for a two hour tour, but this will be the first time tourists can stay the night.

It comes soon after the release of the long-awaited Amazon Prime Video Lord of the Rings show, which will explore new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring.

Cast members for the new show include Robert Aramayo, 27, who played the young version of lead Eddard Stark in Game of Thrones, as well as Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge and Morfydd Clark.

Series regulars also include Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman.

Stand up comedian Lenny Henry also features in the first series.

Jeff Bezos’s streaming channel paid a reported £200million just to secure the TV rights to the author’s works and in return the estate, which controls the copyright of most of his books, agreed to let them expand on the events mentioned by the writer.

But if you are expecting the hairy-footed hobbits we know and love, you are going to be disappointed – because there aren’t any in the series.
