I’m a flight attendant and I swear by a £1.50 item when I travel – you’ll have it in your house
A FLIGHT attendant has revealed the one must-have essential she packs for every flight - and it costs just £1.50.
The Virgin Atlantic cabin crew veteran will never board a plane without a small tub of Vaseline.
Vicky Lewis, from Sonning in Berkshire, has worked for Richard Branson’s airline for 28 years and said: “Vaseline is a must to stop my lips from drying out. And I’ll even put it under my eyes on super long flights.
“To keep liquids to a minimum you have to be ruthless so a small tub of Vaseline covers lots of bases. I also love all the CeraVe products including their moisturisers and cleansers.”
Talking to Sun Travel onboard Virgin Atlantic’s latest route launch to Tampa, Florida she confessed there are a few other essentials crew love to make life onboard a little easier.
She added: “One other thing I love to have is a hot water bottle when we are lucky enough to get crew rest in those secret bunk beds!

“My other must-haves are a Tangle Teezer hairbrush to keep me looking polished and I’ve found a Heathrow Rewards Card is a must as I am there so often and everything I buy at the airport means more points and instant rewards.”
Vicky, 47, welcomed passengers onboard Virgin’s inaugural flight to Tampa - and was among the first to crew their brand new Airbus A330neo plane.
The airline announced it had ordered 16 of the planes in 2019 and the first are now entering the Virgin fleet - flying to Boston and Tampa.
The planes are among the greenest in the skies, burning 11per cent less fuel and creating fewer carbon emissions.

And travellers can look forward to plenty of upmarket touches. In economy, there’s the airline’s biggest seatback screen at 13.3inches - an intuitive touchscreen with Bluetooth so you can connect your own headphones and use your phone as a controller.
Economy passengers also get AC or USB ports to keep gadgets powered up and a 31in to 34in seat pitch and 17.9in wide seat.
In Premium Economy, there’s in-seat wireless charging, calf rests and increased storage.
And in Upper Class, high rollers can lie back on a 6ft 4in bed in their own suite with privacy door.
There’s even a special Retreat Suite at the front of the plane - Virgin’s biggest yet - with two exclusive suites with 6ft 7in flat beds and 27in touchscreen monitor.
