A FLIGHT attendant has revealed exactly why you shouldn't be afraid of flying ever again.

Despite it being one of the safest forms of transport, plenty of people are afraid of flying - and it's not surprising.

Being stuck in a metal tube 30,000 feet in the sky sounds like a terrifying prospect and to some it can prevent them from wanting to get on board a plane at all.

Flight attendant Patricia Green told website how you can get over your fear of flying and why you should feel safe when up in the air.

The chances are slim

She said: "You are more likely to die from being kicked to death by a donkey than being involved in an aircraft accident.

"The most dangerous part of your family holiday is, in fact, the car journey to the airport.

"The risk of dying during car travel is estimated to have a 1 in 107 chance, whereas air travel could not even be communicated as the number was insignificant."

Patricia recommends the following three steps to getting over a fear of flight.

If the cabin crew aren't worried, neither should you be, so the advice is to keep an eye on them and how they're behaving.

You should also feel free to let one of them know if you're afraid and they will do all they can to help you feel at ease.
