THE nation faces a cold, bleak winter as energy prices skyrocket and the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.
But a long-stay winter break somewhere warmer in Europe or beyond could be a real alternative. With prices from just £6.75 per person, per night, it could save you a fortune with energy bills expected to quadruple by January.
From self-catering stays in sunny Egypt to a luxurious Caribbean cruise that costs less than £76 per night, there’s plenty on offer.

MURCIA, SPAIN – £6.75 pppn, self-catering
IF you’ve got your own pad on wheels, the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s fabulous 77-night deal at the La Manga site in Murcia is a stunner.
You’ll get a fully-serviced pitch with 6kw of electricity a day plus ferry crossing from Dover to Calais, for just £1,041 in total for two adults based on January 14 to March 25 stay.

WITH 365 days of sunshine, El Gouna on Egypt’s eastern coast is the perfect place to spend winter.

Guests get free access to local pools and a ten per cent discount in local restaurants and bars.
