Brit left stunned by rude anti-tourist graffiti in Spanish city – but not everyone is on her side

A WOMAN was left shocked by anti-tourist graffiti while on holiday in Barcelona - but not everyone is against it.
Louise Beilby posted the video on TikTok while on holiday in the Spanish city with her husband.
She sarcastically captioned the video: "Barcelona is so welcoming."
Images show lots of graffiti that said "tourists go home" across the city.
Another door had artwork that said "tourism kills the city".
The video has been watched more than 1.2million times with some people agreeing with her.
Someone wrote: "If there was no tourism in Barcelona then the economy would struggle."
A second agreed: "I'm from Spain and I get that tourists can be a pain sometimes but they're literally the only thing keeping our economy stable."
Another joked: "Tourists do go home. Otherwise they would be residents."
But most people were on the local's side, saying holiday rentals were making house prices rise for people who lived there.
Someone wrote: "I’ve seen how a lot of tourists behave in Barcelona and other Spanish towns… I can understand this."
A second said: "Tourists have a huge impact on the housing crisis eg. Lots of houses for the locals have been converted into Airbnbs and hostels."
People from other holiday hotspots such as Lisbon, Cornwall and Edinburgh said they agreed with it.
One person wrote: "I totally understand this. Lived in Edinburgh most of my life and the tourists were draining."
Another Brit said: "Don’t blame them, I have to move out of my London home next month cause it’s turning into an Airbnb."
Last summer, a tourist in Cornwall was left stunned after spotting grafitti telling visitors to "go die".
And last month, a woman was left stunned by VERY rude tourists she encountered on holiday in Cornwall - and many have said it's become worse since Covid.
