British Airways resumes short-haul flights from London Heathrow – here are some of the best deals right now

BRITISH Airways has resumed the sale of short-haul flights after beng forced to suspend them due to the Heathrow passenger cap.

The airport is currently limiting its daily number of passengers to 100,000, down from 104,000, until at least October.

The UK flag carrier suspended the sale of journeys on July 30 in response, which was extended until today.

It was feared that it could also impact the sale of long-haul flights.

However, British Airways has since confirmed that the short-haul flights have resumed sales from today.

The airline said in an announcement: "The temporary suspension of our ticket sales for short-haul services from London Heathrow will not be extended and fares will continue to be available via all channels for travel from 15 August 2022.

“We’ll continue to manage bookings to be within the passenger cap so we can get our customers away as planned this summer. We may take targeted action to limit the number of seats or fares available if necessary on certain flights.

“We would like to thank you for your patience as we’ve navigated this challenging period together.”

Flights can all be found for less than £80 if traveling next month.

And British Airways also has deals on some of their holidays, including city breaks and five-star beach trips, from .

Heathrow initially said airlines had to stop flogging summer tickets to cut 4,000 passenger departures.

The airport previously even ordered airlines to consider booting holidaymakers off flights to bring an end to travel chaos engulfing the UK.

It's not just BA either - Lufthansa also reduced their flight sales last month too.

Thousands of flights and holidays have been cancelled amid travel hell in Britain this summer, while droves of Brits have reported how airports are losing their luggage.
