CHEAP beach holidays can be hard to come by these days, even if you're not going abroad.

With hotels ramping up prices in the summer months, camping is seen by many as a great affordable alternative.

Camping holiday experts have chosen ten of the best campsites near beaches in the UK for those looking to get to the beach on a budget.

Combas Farm in Croyde offers views of Woolacombe Bay from its elevated position.

This family-run site is also within walking distance of Croyde village and a 20-minute stroll from Putsborough beach.

The owners invite guests to: "Watch the stars at night and fall asleep trying to catch the sound of Putsborough’s crashing waves."

On a clear day you can even get views of Wales.

Fire pits and barbecues are permitted on site.

A pitch is available from £30 per night for two adults sharing.

The Hollies in Suffolk, not far from Lowestoft, is just ten minutes walk from the dog-friendly Kessingland Beach.

The 28-acre site is on a seaside clifftop and boasts a fire pit and pitches that offers beach views.

You have the option to camp, tour, go self-catering or try glamping with a view of the sea.

A pitch for two is available from £14 per night.

For those who don't fancy sleeping in a tent, Esgaireithin caravan site offers double beds with heaters, a cooker, fridge and hot showers.

Guests are advised to bring binoculars as dolphins and seals are frequently spotted swimming from the nearby beaches.

Cardigan, Tresaith, Poppit Sands and Llangrannog are all nearby, with a range of beach sports on offer, including surfing, coasteering, paddleboarding and sea kayaking.

A static caravan for two can be booked from £45 per night.

Hope Farm in Hayle, Cornwall offers eco-friendly camping close to Godrevy, Portreath and Gwithian beaches.

Gwitihian is popular for novice surfers, with a surf school on hand to provide equipment hire and lessons.

Barbecues and fire pits are both permitted on site.

Morvenview caravan site in Scotland could be perfect for surfers keen to experience the waves at Thurso, dubbed the surfing capital of Scotland.

Beaches at Wick and Dunnet Head are also close by.

Guests can enjoy views of the Orkney Islands and even the Northern Lights under the right conditions.

The pubs, restaurants and attractions of Bude town centre are a 20-minute walk from the farm.

There is a minimum two-night stay at the site, where a pitch costs just £20 per night.

This campsite is set on a working farm in the Lancashire countryside just outside the village of Stalmine.

It is a 10-minute walk to the nearest pub and only a 20-minute drive to Blackpool.

A bus stop in Stalmine offers access to the rest of the coast for those looking to leave the car behind.

Prices start at £25 per night, although there is a two-night minimum stay.

Celtic Camping is situated on a 250-acre National Trust farm and offers sea views.

It's just five minutes' walk from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and the pebbly cove of Aber Pwll.

St Davids is close by too, as is the blue lagoon at Abereiddy Bay, which is a popular spot for diving and has twice hosted the Red Bull cliff diving world series.

A non-electric pitch is available from £28 per night for two.

This campsite is just a ten-minute drive from the country's oldest family-owned brewery, while the nearest pub is just a two minute walk away.

Whitstable isn't far away, neither are the Kent Downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

A night in the dog-friendly site's cherry orchard is available from £18 per night for two people.
