Flight attendant reveals shocking secret about plane loos that will make you nervous to do your business

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed a rather grim secret about the plane toilets - which will leave you scared to use them next time.

Long flights require a number of bathroom breaks - and one cabin crew member said they know everything you are doing in there.

The anonymous flight attendant told : "The toilets are near where we sit.

"No matter how hard you try to cover up the fact that you’re taking a dump, it makes a different noise than if you just go number one, so we always know."

Any nervous bathroom goers may want to try and use the toilet when crew are busy during service instead.

Erika Roth, a former flight attendant who flew with commercial airlines for several years, says there are two moments on a flight that provide the best time to go.

She told  that if you pick your time right, you could have up to ten minutes of peace and quiet to do your business.

According to Erika, the perfect time comes as soon as the seat belt signs are off, because most people won't need the loo yet.

Failing that, the next best moment comes just at the beginning of the drinks service.

This is because most people are so keen for their free booze that they are likely to cross their legs and wait instead of missing out.

Make sure you actually use the bathroom though - another flight attendant revealed some of the weirdest places she found poo, including just outside the toilet instead.

One thing you don't have to worry about? Getting sucked into the loo.

The vacuum on the plane toilet works only at the opening of the disposal pipe, and the toilets are designed to prevent this from happening.

Passengers have also shared their other horror stories while travelling including dirty feet on tray tables.
