I’ve waited 3 YEARS for BA to refund £5.2k after my holiday was cancelled – I can’t afford another trip until they pay
A FURIOUS dad says he has been waiting three years for British Airways to refund him £5,200 after his holiday was cancelled.
Michael Callaghan, 57, is still waiting to get his money back after his family trip to Orlando, Florida, was called off due to Covid.
He had booked the trip of a lifetime to Disney World for him and his loved ones in January 2020, but travel restrictions meant they were unable to go.
Brits were banned from visiting the United States during the peak of the pandemic.
The family were initially offered vouchers to rebook for the following year, which they accepted.
But Michael realised the price of the holiday had skyrocketed as resorts were celebrating Walt Disney World’s 25th anniversary during their rescheduled dates.

Instead of blowing his travel budget, the disappointed dad, from Worcester, asked British Airways for a refund in July last year.
But almost three years on from booking the trip, BA still hasn't reimbursed him for his flights.
Michael says he hasn't been able to take his family on holiday this year - despite there being no travel restrictions - as he can't afford it until he gets his money back.
The frustrated father told : "We were first offered vouchers to rebook for the following year, which we did.

"But we asked for a refund in July 2021, as the resort was celebrating Walt Disney World’s 25th anniversary and staying there was more expensive.
"But after close to 10 months – nothing," he fumed.
"Trying to get someone to speak to has been like banging my head against a brick wall."
A spokesman for BA apologised for the refund delays and said it had now "actioned" payment for Michael.
Over 4,000 BA customers have lodged complaints about the airline to the independent complaints mediator Resolver in the past year.

A string of disgruntled customers have said they too have been kept waiting for more than a year to receive refunds.
The renowned airline has forked out a whopping £4million so far for cancelled flights since the pandemic caused travel chaos.
And three million vouchers have also been distributed to travellers to use for future trips.
BA was forced to cut flights this year amid struggles to replace cabin crew - who were made redundant or left their roles during Covid.
