Brits face summer holiday chaos as British Airways cancels MORE popular routes

SUMMER holidays have been put at risk after British Airways cancelled MORE popular flight routes.

BA have cancelled UK flights to Miami, Hong Kong and Tokyo throughout the summer, with plans to scrap the routes for at least four months.

Now holidaymakers are fearing that even more popular destinations will be cancelled amid the ongoing staff shortages.

Flights from Heathrow to Miami will be cut from two to one a day from June 4 until at least September 7, BA customers were told.

It's one of the most popular destinations for UK families and is set to affect thousands of holidaymakers this summer.

Hong Kong has been removed from the flight log due to the ongoing entry restrictions caused by the Covid pandemic.

The airline has also suspended London to Tokyo flights for the rest of the summer 2022 season.

This comes as more than 100 flights were cancelled this week as Brits trying to go abroad are still begin affected by the travel chaos across the UK.

And BA cancelled around 300 flights over the Easter weekend.

Many of the cancelled flights are due to staff shortages due to Covid or a reduction in schedules.

British Airways had to cancel 96 flights on Wednesday, including a number of domestic routes including Manchester, Newcastle, as well as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Belfast and Jersey.

A number of destinations across Europe were also affected by the cancellations to and from London Heathrow.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Ryanair has warned that Brits should expect the travel chaos to continue for months.

Following the travel chaos - which has seen passengers miss their flights at Manchester Airport - an airline employee has revealed the top three things passengers should do if their flight is cancelled.

It's not just the airports - thousands of passengers have had their holidays disrupted by the P&O Ferries cancellations after all services were suspended this weekend.

And to cap it off, lots of families have been forced to cancel their holidays due to huge delays in passport renewals, which has seen many wait more than the recommended 10 weeks.
