Airport flight cancellations: Brits forced to end holidays early as airlines change flights at short notice
BRITS are being forced to end their holidays early as airlines are changing their flights at short notice - and rebooking them to come home earlier.
Airlines have cancelled hundreds of flights in recent days due to staff shortages caused by Covid.
British Airways and easyJet have both been forced to cancel flights and have booked passengers onto alternatives to try to accommodate them.
However, many of the rebooked flights return to the UK sooner than holidaymakers had planned, forcing them to cut their trips short so they can make the new flights.
Furious passengers have taken to Twitter to share their frustration at having to end their holiday early - leaving many of them out of pocket.
One person wrote: "Outraged with @easyJet right now. It's one thing to cancel my flight and rebook me for a day earlier, but to charge me £30 extra just to get the cabin bag and legroom I'd already paid for on the initial flight is pretty despicable."

They then followed that tweet up with: "And they've cancelled my return flight too, and slapped me on an earlier flight with no baggage allowance or legroom so sod my personal belongings, and sod me for having the temerity to be born tall I guess."
Someone else put: "Why do @easyJet think it’s acceptable to cancel flights and rebook for a different day. Now losing money for the hotel booking that we are having to leave a day early and we are going to have to pay for transit as the other half of our party have been rebooked on a different day!"
Another person wrote: "So why are we not getting notification of flights being cancelled? No compensation offered and now having to fly home early from my holiday in Sardinia."
There has been travel chaos across the country over the last week as thousands of Brits try to jet off on a foreign holiday over Easter.
