All Covid travel rules including passenger locator forms SCRAPPED this week in huge holiday boost

ALL remaining Covid rules were swept away last night as ministers ripped up the final travel rules.

Tedious passenger locator forms and the requirement for unvaxxed passengers to get tested will be dropped from 4am Friday in time for the Easter holidays.

It also means Novak Djokovic can breeze into Britain for this summer's Wimbledon without any of his jabs or being swabbed.

Cabinet Ministers revived the mothballed Covid O committee yesterday to green-light the changes and finally bring the curtain down on pandemic curbs. 

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps hailed the red tape shredding a return to "the good old days" of travel. 

Crediting the thundering vaccine rollout he said: "Finally we can get rid of all the travel restrictions, so there is no more testing, there's no more quarantine, there's no more paperwork."

Covid tests were axed for jabbed jet-setters earlier this month, making it easier and cheaper for families to jet abroad for some winter sun.

Passenger locator forms were kept as a last line of defence so officials in case another outbreak flared up. 

The cumbersome paperwork required passengers to specify their travel details, address and vaccination status. 

Airline bosses desperately trying to seize on the pent-up demand after two years of travel hell welcomed the move. 

Tim Alderslade, chief executive of airlines UK, said: "With travellers returning to the UK no longer burdened by unnecessary forms and testing requirements, we can now look forward to the return to pre-Covid normality throughout the travel experience.

Virgin Atlantic called it "the final important step towards frictionless air travel".

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy added: "The removal of passenger locator forms and testing regimes means that customers can at long last enjoy hassle-free travel, just like they did before the pandemic. 

"With Easter just around the corner and Summer fast approaching, this announcement comes at the perfect time."
