The 3 new Disney World rules in place this year that will affect your family holiday

FAMILIES can finally return to Disney World this summer, after nearly two years of the US travel ban.

However, a number of things have changed at the park since the pandemic, meaning a very different experience is to be expected.

We’ve explained the three new rules you may not be aware of which will affect your holiday.

No more hotel shuttle bus

Many families booking a holiday to Disney World often opt for a Disney hotel, due to the extra perks it offers.

One of them used to be the Magical Express bus which was a free shuttle service between Orlando Airport and the hotels.

However, the shuttle bus has since been scrapped, meaning Brits have to now pay for a rental car or taxi to get between the airport and the hotel.

Or, the former Magic Express shuttle buses have now been taken over by Mears Connect, with return tickets costing $32 (£24.87) for adults and $27 (£20.14) for kids.

There is also the Sunshine Flyer bus, costing $34 (£25.36) for adults and £25 (£18.65) for kids

This means families may need to factor in additional costs which could be as much as £100.

Earlier opening times at Epcot

Disney World has seen maximum capacity in recent weeks, which even led to the parks being fully booked.

One Brit issued a warning after he was unable to visit the parks for two days of his holiday because he hadn’t pre-booked, only for there to be no availability.

In response, Epcot is opening earlier than ever before – instead of opening at 10am, the land will open at 8:30am.

This will be in place until March 5, and then again from March 13-19.

No park hopping until 2pm

Before the pandemic, guests were free to swap between each of the lands at Disney World.

With the Park Hopper option, this meant you could opt for both Epcot and Magic Kingdom on the same day.

This was suspended during the pandemic, after capacity limits were introduced.

While Park Hopper tickets have returned, there are new rules in place which mean you cannot change parks until 2pm.

This is because tourists also now have to book their parks ahead of time.
