A HOTEL worker has revealed the same ignorant question she's often asked by guests when they check in.
Front desk worker and Tiktok user shared a video telling her 45,000 followers that guests often try to check in under their partner's name.
She explained that guests often assume that they will be able to access their hotel room using their partner's name, even if their own name isn't on the booking - which is not something hotels will do.
In the video, she pretended she was a guest checking in and said: "Why can't I check in under my husband's reservation when my name is not on the reservation?"
She then explained: "The main reason you cannot check in under somebody else's reservation is for security purposes. Our loyalty lies with the registered guest on the reservation.
"Well, what if you've got the same last name, the same address, have a picture of the confirmation?
"For all we know, you could be some stalker ex-wife that still has the same address on your ID, hacked into his phone, got all his information and you're trying to access his room to try to kill him.
"We don't know you at the front desk. We can't give you keys and we can't give you access."

"If you are travelling with your significant other or even just a friend or business colleague and you need access to the same room, make sure you call ahead or tell them at check in that this person, this person and this person needs access to my room."
The video has been watched 10,000 times and one person commented sharing the time they tried to access a room under their partner's name.
They wrote: "Omg this has happened to us. I ended up having to change the reservation to my name because [my partner] lost his ID. Had to pay the difference with [a higher] rate."
Others revealed that they've never had an issue checking in under someone else's name.
One person put: "The hotel I stayed at didn't care. I was staying there for work and my husband came to visit me and they gave him a key to my room without asking me!"
A hotel worker commented: "We don't even check ID at our hotel. I do it when I check people in but I know not everyone does this. Scares me since we are right by a major highway."
Another hotel worker revealed customers always ask the same thing at check in.
