Guinness is opening a new tourist attraction in the UK – with a microbrewery, restaurant and lots of beers to try
BEER-lovers rejoice as Guinness has announced it is opening a new £73m tourist attraction in the UK.
Dubbed 'Guinness at Old Brewer's Yard', the Irish beer company is opening a microbrewery and restaurant in Covent Garden in the autumn of 2023.
Similar to the Dublin Guinness Storehouse attraction, visitors will be able to take tours of the 50,000sqft site to learn about the stout and its history from beer experts.
Better still, visitors will get the chance to try lots of new beers - some of which will be limited edition and only available at the London site.
There will be an events space in a covered courtyard which will be open for use by the local community as well as a restaurant with a glass roof for diners to come and enjoy.
Visitors will also be able to buy souvenirs at an onsite Guinness store.
The site was formerly the home of the Woodyard Brewery and Guinness bosses are keen to bring brewing back to London.
Dayalan Nayager, managing director of Guinness' parent company Diageo, said: “We’re excited to create a new home for Guinness in the heart of London.

"‘Guinness at Old Brewer’s Yard’ will strengthen London’s hospitality community and be a must-visit destination for thousands of visitors to enjoy."
Diageo is also planning on creating a training a programme for aspiring bartenders and hospitality workers, with hopes for 100 London-based students to graduate each year.
The site is expected to open in autumn next year, subject to planning permission.
Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak added: “This multi-million-pound investment is a crucial vote of confidence in our capital.
“Three hundred years after brewing the first beer in Old Brewers Yard, it’s fantastic to see Guinness breathing life into our hospitality and tourism industries and creating more jobs and training opportunities in central London.”

The attraction isn't the only thing coming to London in the near future.
The London Resort theme park - dubbed the UK's Disneyland - is expected to open in 2025.
