Love Island star Arabella Chi’s insider guide to Ibiza – including the best secret spot to visit
LOVE Island star Arabella Chi has shared her top tips for Brits wanting to visit Ibiza, including the best secret beaches and how to do a holiday on a budget.
The model explained why she loves the Spanish island, which is all to do with her family growing up there.
She told Sun Online Travel: "My dad lived in Ibiza as a hippy originally, in the seventies.
"My dad’s side of the family moved there in 1968 so it has been a massive family pull - we always had a place there so I was an Ibiza hippy child.
"My dad moved to England and met my mum but my parents still own a place in Marina Botafoch, so I split my time between here and there."
From the best bars to top tips for Ibiza first-timers, here are some of Arabella's top tips.
Best restaurant
"Every year I take my parents to a new restaurant.
"For the views, Casa Maca has a really good vibe and the food is phenomenal. You have to book a month in advance though.
"There is also Elements Ibiza which has a really chilled vibe, and not posh at all."
Best club
"Every night is different so this is a tricky one. But I’d probably say DC10 is still my favourite.
"It has two good nights I love - Paradise and Circoloco - and the music there is amazing."
Best beach bars
"My clubbing days are over now I’ve hit 30 - I prefer beach bars and being in bed at 12.
"All my friends want to go to the superclubs but there is so much more to Ibiza than the clubs.
"Experimental Beach Ibiza is my favourite by far. It’s a place for the sunset with a really good vibe - a lot of hippies and everyone plays the bongos as sun goes down."
Best beach
"There are a lot of coves that people don't realise.
"There is Cala Salada where you have to go over rocks to get to it - it's hard to get to but the water is Maldives-crystal clear.
"There is one beach restaurant on it but it’s not good so you take your own lunch.

Best hotel
"The best hotel is the Gran Hotel Ibiza in Marina Botafoch, it is a beautiful hotel in the centre so it is really central and has all of the amenities."
Best part of the island to stay
"Stay in Marina Botafoch or in Talamanca, because you are in the centre of a lot of places, although you need a car or scooter because the taxi situation is horrendous."
Best spots to wear your most glamorous clothing
"There is Cipriani - a really good Italian restaurant.
"Izakaya is my favourite for Asian food, along with Nagai, while Amante has great food.
"LIO has cabaret for a great night out, or in the middle of nowhere is Aubergine, which is very countryside-esque and the food is beautiful."
Best for shopping
"Go to all the little stalls around Ibiza Old Town for shopping, with one clothes shop called Annie's which is really good - I got some traditional Ibiza cowboy boots last week."
Tips for Ibiza newbies
"Don't follow the crowd - hire a scooter or car and go for a drive to find hidden spots as there are so many hidden coves.
"Also so many beaches don't have day beds, so take your own towel to lay on the rocks.
"And walk to the top of Ibiza Old Town because the view is beautiful."

Tips if doing Ibiza on a budget
"You don't have to do all the fancy stuff, as the beaches are so beautiful."
"There is also Hostal Talamanca - they do a really nice breakfast and coffee - and there are loads of places along Talamanca, which is a lot more chilled and more about families, and great on a budget."
