Hotel staff reveal the guests they hate the most – are you one of them?

HOTEL staff have been spilling the secrets about the guests they hate the most - with a long list of pet peeves.

If you take food from the breakfast buffet for later, or try to sneak drinks from the mini bar, you are one of the bad ones.

Speaking to , the hotel owners revealed some of the worst things people do when staying.

One common thing that guests do is steal items from the hotel, with some very brazenly denying it.

One hotel owner said: "My heart sinks when a guest complains that the signature doesn’t look like theirs on a very expensive bar tab.

"Of course it doesn’t; you were so drunk that you couldn’t hold a pen nor remember your room number."

Another added: "The guests who say: 'The robes/cushions/ornaments/pictures looked very like the ones we have at home.

'I thought my wife had brought them with us. That’s why I packed them into our suitcase.'"

Some said that guests even ask for extra toilet roll despite there being some in the room so they could take it home - even at five-star hotels costing hundreds a night.

Other badly behaved guests include those who steal the batteries from the TV remotes - "not expensive, but highly inconvenient for the next guest" - and taking the coat hangers from the wardrobes.

Don't try to take food from the breakfast buffet either, as they said this is also one of the big annoyances.

They explained that the worst people are "guests who nick food for their lunch from the breakfast buffet and try to hide it up their jumpers as they leave the room".

Back in 2019, hotel guests were even reported to be stealing mattresses from their rooms, with some of them costing thousands of pounds each.

Greedy travellers have been boasting about the outrageous items they steal from hotel rooms, with many swapping out the fancy pillows with their own ones.
