YOU can now spend the night in an IKEA building, with hostel beds, beer taps and an in-house cinema.

Jo&Joe, a hostel chain around Europe, has opened on the top floors of the new IKEA in Vienna.

Guests can stay from just £15 a night

There are 345 beds on offer, ranging from small private rooms for two to six people, to large dorms for 12 people.

Each guest will have a large bed as well as US sockets and mini fans during the hot summer months, as well as large lockers and bed pockets to put your phone in.

There is street food at the rooftop garden and an in-house diner with everything from breakfast to dinner, with a self-serving beer tap for guests.

Food choices range from pizza and burgers to soups and lasagnas, with veggie versions available, and are an absolute bargain, for a three-course version.

The rooftop garden has 360-degree views of Vienna, with a cocktail bar and DJ booth, as well as street art and an “urban forest”.

The large open plan living area has football tables, ski lift seats and even tables for co-working.

Even better, it is opposite the main train station in Vienna so you don’t have to go too far.

The in-house cinema is opening next year, but IKEA fans can simply walk down the stairs and go for a shop in the brand new furniture shop which opened earlier this year.

The new hostel says on their website: “Bang in the heart of the city, you’ll be taking in penthouse views from the top levels of a new eco concept building.

“With custom street art, cinema room and one of the biggest rooftops in town, this is the place to hang out, eat and party every day of the week.

“Kick back with street food in our huge rooftop garden, or grab a bite in our in-house diner. Then head to the bar and hit the dancefloor, all while enjoying incredible views of Vienna.

“A 360 sunset view of Vienna, artisanal cocktail in hand, a sizzling schnitzel sandwich fresh from the container kitchen.

“Friends, DJs, good times flowing. Anything can happen in our 1,800 sqm playground of green trees and street art, high high high above the city. Welcome to JO&JOE.

Jo&Joe vice president François Leclerc added: “Jo&Joe is neither a classic hotel nor a youth hostel.

“It is a unique and fresh chapter within hospitality.”
