Flight attendant reveals the most annoying things passengers do on flights – and the worst time to get up for the loo

CABIN crew have the patience of saints - they keep a smile on their face in front of even the most annoying passengers.

But some things we do can really bug flight attendants — and we may not even realise we’re doing them.

An Australian flight attendant called Michele has revealed to the most annoying things that passengers do on planes, and we bet you've done at least one.

Stay out of the aisle when the drinks trolley's out

This is a tricky one, as the drinks trolley tends to come out once the plane's above the clouds - but it also happens to be when the seatbelt signs turns off.

But if you can skip that toilet visit, the cabin crew will thank you for it.

She said: "Please avoid standing in the aisle when we're trying to serve you, it's hard trying to move up and down a single-aisle aircraft, but it makes it harder when we're having to navigate through people standing up, and people having their kids on the floor."

Do what the cabin crew say

If you’ve flown on a plane before, then you’ll have a pretty good idea of the general rules, but it seems some passengers are just determined not to follow them.

One man in Florida was so set on breaking the rules recently that he had to be duct-taped to his seat for the remainder of his flight, and some airlines are now even having to teach staff self-defense skills for dealing with troublesome customers.

So, it’s not surprising to hear that airport workers get really hacked-off when they have to constantly ask passengers to follow instructions.

Michele said: "If your flight attendants ask you to do something like stow your tray table, place your bag under your seat, or raise your window shade, please do it."

Stop using your phone on the tarmac

It might be tempting to take picture of yourself boarding the plane, but according to Michele all phones should be switched off while crossing the tarmac.

She said: "In most airports around the world, there are transfer fuel lines that run underneath the tarmac, so right where you're walking, so please just obey the rule."

They aren't the only bugbears either, last week a Ryanair flight attendant revealed the worst thing a passenger can do on her flights.

In her video, she shows a passenger asking to use the toilet during a flight to which she says "yeah sure, that's fine."

However, as the passenger leaves the toilet, she leaves the door wide open, to which Holly rolls her eyes and looks annoyed.

She then angrily shows herself closing it, and captioned the video: "Every single time."
