SCHOOL summer holidays are fast approaching, with the break kicking off for most schools in July.

Families looking for a break after a long time being cooped up at home can find some cheap escapes across the UK.

Domestic trips are proving even more popular than last year, as Brits struggle to find any popular destinations to travel to on the green list.

Brits have been busy booking up summer hols in popular south-west destinations like Cornwall and Devon, leading to a shortage of properties and rising prices.

Despite this are deals to be had at big name holiday parks like Haven, Pontins and Butlin's and at holiday homes and cottages.

This year, school summer holidays dates run from Monday, July 26 to Tuesday, August 31, although this can be different for some schools

With foreign travel on the backburner for now, the summer break may well be the first opportunity to get a holiday in the diary.

Groups up to six people from different households or unlimited numbers of people from two households can now share a holiday let together.

Currently, there will be no restrictions on group sizes for holidays from July 19, as long as the fourth stage of lockdown is not delayed further.
