THEME PARKS across England will be able to welcome guests back for hotel stays from Monday, just in time for the late May bank holiday.

In anticipation of May 17, many top parks are offering deals on short breaks and tickets, so families can enjoy a thrilling break on a budget.

Theme parks have been able to open since April 12, when outdoor hospitality restrictions were lifted.

This included other outdoor venues such as zoos, but the lockdown dates only applied to England, not Wales and Scotland.

But now, overnight staycations and hotel stays are resuming from May 17, allowing groups to go away together (two households or rule of six from different households) and then from June 21 there will be no limit on groups.

Alton Towers

 - and stays at Alton Towers Hotel, Enchanted Village Woodland Lodges and Splash Landings Hotel are all included.

Resort packages include breakfast, evening entertainment and a free round of nine-hole Extraordinary Golf.

Those who want to visit for the day can make  if they book online at least five days in advance. It means a ticket that would normally cost from £53 on the day will be reduced to £34 online.
