Inside Rightmove’s most viewed overseas homes of 2021 – from a £16.6m Florida mansion to a £13m Majorca villa

WHILE holidays are off the cards due to the UK lockdown, this hasn’t stopped Brits from dreaming of going abroad.

New research from the property website Rightmove has revealed the five most viewed properties around the world from the UK.

This includes cliffside mansions, bulletproof townhouses and horse ranches across the globe

Rightmove’s Director of Property Data Tim Bannister said: “Travelling abroad has been restricted for quite some time now, but these measures haven’t stopped the British public from scrolling through Rightmove Overseas to discover their favourite European villas and American mansions.

“There remains a huge appetite to view stunning overseas homes and this round-up includes a bulletproof New York fortress and a wonderful home on the southwest coast of Mallorca.”

Here are the top five overseas properties most viewed by Brits:

Florida mansion

On the market for £16.5m, the has six bedrooms, with views of the beach and Smugglers Cove.

A highlight of the property is the Koi pond in the garden, as well as a movie room and a “summer kitchen” overlooking the water.

There is even a private dock which has the space for an 100ft yacht.

Florida is often popular with Brits for a holiday due to Disney World and Universal, although remains closed to the UK due to the US border ban.

Also in the US, a huge which has six bedrooms is one of the most fortified – with a bulletproof exterior.

It will set you back £36m, but has 360 degree views of the city skyline from the private roof deck.

With seven stories, the entire building including the glass can withstand bullets.

Despite direct flights from the UK to the US, the borders remain closed to America so New York is off the cards for Brits.

Closer to home, a nine-bedroom has also hit the most searched list.

The Majorca property has floor-to-ceiling windows and doors overlooking the sea, as well as an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.

The California-style property may be cheaper than the US properties but will still set you back £13m.

Non-essential travel is currently banned meaning a trip to Spain can’t go ahead just yet.

If you want a real California experience, in the Golden State is one of the most viewed on Rightmove.

Costing nearly $40m, the property has 4,600 acres of hills, which amenities incluing tennis and horse-riding.

There is even a helipad so you can get to Rancho Latigo easily enough.

Brits can’t visit California right now due to the US border ban.

Another to make the list is the cheapest option for a mere £4m.

Locating in the West Village in Manhattan, the property is three separate houses – a three-bed duplex with a roof terrace, a lower duplex with a garden and a separate carriage house.

However, it can be converted to one big property.

Brits will have to add New York to their bucket list with the borders closed to the UK.
