Is Dubai in lockdown? Latest Covid rules and restrictions
DUBAI has enforced new restrictions across the city after coronavirus cases in the UAE continue to rise.
Here we explain what you need to know regarding the latest travel restrictions.
Can I go on holiday to Dubai right now?
Right now, no - the UK is under the lockdown restrictions which prohibits any non-essential travel abroad.
Since January 30, all direct flights from the UAE to the UK have been prohibited, with only UK citizens still allowed to return.
However, before the lockdown, anyone in Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 was allowed to travel abroad.
Only Tier 4 residents were banned from travelling abroad.
The UK lockdown is expected to last until at least March.
Do I need to have a coronavirus test to enter Dubai?
All Dubai arrivals must now have a negative coronavirus test.
It must be taken no more than 72 hours in advance and arrivals may face a second test on arrival.
Previously, the city offered testing on arrival with a quarantine while waiting for results but this has since been changed.
Do I need to quarantine when I am back in the UK?
Yes, you will have to quarantine when returning to the UK as the UAE was removed from the air bridge list last month.
Any arrivals from the UAE must quarantine for 10 days and cannot leave it on day five even with a negative coronavirus test.
When the new quarantine hotels are introduced, anyone returning from Dubai will be forced to self-isolate at them for 10 days.
Anyone returning to the UK, even Brits, will also have to have a negative coronavirus test to show on arrival, and a Passenger Locator Form.
This must be taken no more than 72 hours before departing your holiday destination.
