Last minute holiday deals to Turkey with seven nights and flights from £158pp

HOLIDAYS abroad can still go ahead to a number of popular destinations which have lower cases of coronavirus than the UK.

Turkey is just one of the places, a favourite of British tourists, which remains on the UK's 'safe' list and is likely to do so for the next few weeks.

Countries with more than 20 new Covid cases per 100,000, over seven days, are at risk of being put onto the quarantine list.

Turkey is currently at 11.2, similar to the UK's 11.1 and much lower than the 20 decided by the UK government.

With that, it means you can still head abroad, as long as you don't book too far in advance to reduce the risk of being caught by last-minute travel restrictions.

Bargain deals can still be found if booking a holiday next week from just £158 per person, which incldues seven nights at a hotel and return flights.

Holidays in Turkey will also be even cheaper due to the plummeting lira.

A couple of years ago £1 would buy 6.1 lira, but with today’s exchange rate it has risen to 9.56 lira - making the Mediterranean destination much cheaper.

Along with Italy and Germany, Turkey also remains one of the safer destinations for a last-minute holiday with a much lower risk of quarantine restrictions.

Paul Charles, the spokesperson for the Quash Quarantine group previously told Sun Online Travel: “There are plenty of countries still open for holidaymakers, like Greece, Turkey, Italy, Germany and Cyprus."

There are no entry restrictions for Brits heading to Turkey, nor will holidaymakers have to quarantine in either country.

However, temperature and health checks are conducted upon arrival, with anyone testing positive for coronavirus being forced to quarantine.

Authorities have warned that any hotels which don't follow the strict new safety guidelines will be closed at short notice.
