Campsites and caravan parks sell out as holiday boom sees Brits book summer trips across the UK

CAMPSITES and caravan parks are already selling out for the summer in a Brit holiday boom.
Families have been able to stay overnight at self-catered accommodation, caravan parks and campsites across England since July 4 after the government lowered travel restrictions.
While this only initially included England, Wales and Scotland have since opened up to travellers.
With staycations being more popular than ever this year, due to travel uncertainty and worries about heading abroad, it may be harder than ever to be able to book a trip during the summer season.
Plassey Holiday Park in Wrexham said their tents, lodges and caravan sites were fully booked within hours, according to the BBC, while Coed-Y-Glyn Log Cabins, a set of five-star lodges in Denbighshire are sold out until November.
Sun Haven Holiday Park in said that they were "fully booked for August and most of July".
Families may end up struggling to find a holiday in the UK this year as more sell out, while others have been forced to limit capacity due to social distancing guidelines.
Camping holidays are likely to be even cheaper this year, fuelling the booking boom, thanks to the government's VAT tax cuts.
Martin Smith, founder of Campsites.co.uk, suggested that campsites are likely to offer reduced rates to Brits this year following the announcement.
He said: "Just over half of our bookable campsites are VAT registered, so the reduction in VAT is great news for them.
"Either they'll make slightly more on each booking (about £18 on a typical booking worth £150 or so) to put towards lost earnings and extra costs this summer - or they'll have a bit of wiggle room to bring prices down to help fill available capacity."
Thankfully there are still some great deals, including with for £15pppn, or three night breaks with from £10pppn.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged Brits to take holidays in the country this year, to help restart the tourism industry.
