Dee, who was travelling from Mexico to the US, spotted the gross moment as she boarded the plane.

She wrote on a private Facebook group: "Man in front of me, wipes his seat, wife's, and empty seat in between with sanitiser wipes. Then he throws them under the empty seat."

She added the hashtag "#allaboutme" along with an image of three dirty wipes which were strewn under the man's seat.

Social media users were in agreement at how disgusting it was.

Others called him a "jerk" and an "ass" for what he did.

One man asked "I often wonder what condition these people's houses are in. If they throw their trash on the floor their house must be filthy" to which someone replied "yeah, I am a house cleaner and you are spot on".

Some felt there was a way to get back at him: "Sneeze into them then throw it back on his lap."

A flight attendant also commented, writing: "We see this 'behaviour' every. Single. Day. People are disrespectful pigs."

Dee added to Sun Online Travel that he eventually had to touch them again himself, saying: "During descent into Houston, he dropped his phone under that same middle seat and ended up having to reach around amid those icky wipes to find it."

Passengers are being more cautious and clean when travelling due to the global coronavirus outbreak which has killed more than 4,000 and infected more than 110,000 worldwide.
