A PASSENGER was left horrified after spotting a man rubbing his bare feet "all over the plane armrest".
The gross moment was caught on camera as the traveller decided to itch his feet on the seat in front of him.
The video was shared by Instagram user Gnarstypoepole, who tagged account Passenger Shaming.
In the short video, posted on his stories, the bare feet rest on the armrest in front.
The man's big toe is hooked onto the metal in front, resulting in his splayed toes spreading across the back of the chair.
Alongside the video was the caption: "Update: he's rubbing them EVERYWHERE."
The man's other bare foot was resting on the floor, which he tapped against the seat as well.
He then rubbed his foot against the carpet of the plane cabin, seeming to itch during the flight.
Going barefoot is often considered a no-no by both travellers and flight crew, due to both the dirt they can spread and how dirty the plane is itself.
Yesterday, two women were caught resting their bare feet on the seats in front of them during a flight, and were called "nasty" and "dirty".
Not only is it unhygienic, but it could also hinder your escape in an emergency situation.
Former cabin crew member Tony Kuna previously explained: "If your feet [aren’t] properly covered, you'll have a hard time making your way to safety."
"Imagine destroying your bare feet as your run down the aisle covered with broken glass, fires and metal shards."
The best advice for going barefoot on a plane? Using the free hotel slippers during a flight instead, to offer some protection.
People putting bare feet on the seat pockets or the seats themselves could also be causing damage to planes.
