Is it safe to travel to Poland? Latest advice as 26 cases of COVID-19 are confirmed including army general
POLAND has been hit with a rising number of coronavirus as the country records 26 cases so far including one of the nation's top army generals.
As the world fights to contain the deadly bug, here is what you need to know if you are planning on travelling to the European country.

Is it safe to travel to Poland?
According to Poland's health ministry, the total number of coranavirus cases in the country has risen to 26.
Meanwhile one of the country's top armed forces generals, Jaroslaw Mika has tested positive for the virus after returning from a conference in Germany.
Three new infections were announced on Monday, March 9, including an elderly man.
But there are currently no travel restrictions to Poland and so those travelling to the country aren't required to self quarantine upon their return.
The Foreign Office has instead advised Brits to dial 112 in the case of an emergency and ask for an ambulance.
Should you be referred to a medical facility for treatment, contact your insurance company immediately.
Meanwhile, Poland's government has proposed legislation giving the prime minister more powers in the fight against COVID-19.
Can I cancel my holiday to Poland?
Travel to Poland in the next few days remains unaffected.
As a number of flights have been cancelled to several parts of the world, you are advised to keep up to date with the latest travel advice.
Passengers concerned about their trips can contact their airline to find out whether they can change their flights.
But a refund and free changes are highly unlikely.
The only time refunds are required to be given by tour operators and airlines is if the Foreign Office changes its travel advice for a region, making it a no-go area.
That is yet to happen to Poland.
In this instance, independent hotels are not required to issue refunds and so if you choose not to turn up, you will lose your money.
If the hotel is a large chain, you could ask to change your stay to another location or delay your trip - but again, they are under no obligation to grant this request.
Travellers are advised to check with travel insurance providers to see what can be done.
