EasyJet baggage rules: What size hand luggage can I take and what is the checked bags allowance?

GETTING everything into your suitcase can be a nightmare, but it's even worse if you get to the airport and it turns out that you've packed too much.

It's important to check with the airline you're flying with as to how much you're allowed to take on holiday with you.

What size luggage can I take on an EasyJet flight?

EasyJet's website has all the information that passengers need to know about what can and can't be taken on board a flight.

This includes the size of luggage and a guideline of prices - including any additional costs.

You need to check this ahead of travelling to the airport so you know you are within the limit.

EasyJet hand luggage rules

When travelling on an easyJet flight, all passengers can take one small cabin bag per person on board - and it's free to do so.

It can be a maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles and wheels) and must be kept under the seat in front of you.

If it is bigger than this, you may be charged extra and the bag will be placed in the hold.

Your bag can weigh up to 15kg, but easyJet do ask that you’re able to lift and carry the luggage yourself.

As well as a small cabin bag, passengers also have the option to bring a large cabin bag on board.

Customers who have paid to add a large cabin bag to their booking or are an easyJet Plus Member can bring a larger cabin bag on the flight.

The cost to bring a large cabin bag on board starts from £5.99 online.

It can be a maximum size of H56 x W45 x D25cm, including any handles and wheels -  and it comes with a perk.

Every customer who books a larger bag can also enjoy the benefit of Speedy Boarding, which means you get to board the plane first.

It is important to note that the maximum number of cabin bags available per person is two. This includes one small cabin bag for every passenger and one large cabin bag.

EasyJet checked luggage rules

EasyJet passengers must pay to check a suitcase into the hold.

The options range from 15kg to 32kg, with each passenger allowed to check up to three bags.

It's also worth knowing that if you're jetting off with family and friends who are on the same flight and booking - you can pool your total weight allowance together.

The charges to check luggage up to 15kg start from £6.99.

If you're looking to take luggage of up t0 23kg, prices start from £9.49 and can cost as much as £40 at the bag drop desk.

To check in a 32kg suitcase, passengers are charged £15 per 3kg on top of the 23kg bag when checking in online.

If you're wanting to pack sports equipment, you will need to pay between £37 and £55 per item.

Musical instruments up to H45 x W36 x D20 cm can be brought into the cabin in a small cabin bag or in place of a small cabin bag. Instruments larger than this can only be carried into the cabin in a large cabin bag or in place of a large cabin bag.
