THESE exciting images offer the first glimpse inside a massive £3.5billion theme park that is set to open just outside London.

The London Resort features six islands and rides based on kids' shows such as Thunderbirds and Robozuna after ITV bosses signed a multi-million pound deal to be part of the project.

The 535-acre park is set to open in 2024 on the site of a former cement works in Swanscombe, Kent.

Fresh artist's impressions show "next generation" rides and experiences for thrill-seekers .

The attraction has been billed as one of the most ambitious theme park projects ever in Europe and it will be the first development of its kind in Europe to be built from scratch since the opening of Disneyland Paris in 1992.

It will eventually be a two park resort, with the first gate opening in 2024 and the second expected in 2029, a decade from now.

Around 70 per cent of the attractions are expected to be undercover.

The entrance to the resort will be via a grand plaza that leads hotel guests and visitors through a High Street which will be bustling with shops, restaurants, hotels, a convention centre and a waterpark.

Visitors can start their journey in The Studios, a gritty, modern-day warehouse district that will be showing big blockbusters.

The London Resort said: “The project will be one of the largest construction projects across Europe.

"A multi-billion pound investment will transform seven million square meters of land, on the banks of the Thames, into one of the largest, immersive experience centres in the world.

SIX ISLANDS

“When complete, it will be three times larger than any other park in the UK. Two theme parks and a resort water park will be set over 535 acres, the equivalent of 136 Wembley Stadiums.

“A bespoke entertainment district, including the provision of 3,500 hotel rooms, will be devoted to a full-suite of hospitality experiences.

“There will be something for every generation and food and drink for every taste.”

However, the plans state the rides will be the key feature of the park.

The London Resort promises: “It’s the rides and the experiences which will take The London Resort to another level."

Developers have also signed partnerships with BBC Worldwide and the British Film Institute.

BBC shows expected to feature at the theme park include Doctor Who, Top Gear and Sherlock.

More than 30,000 jobs could be created and billions made for the economy.
