THERE are a huge number of castles around the UK that you can stay in and they might not be as expensive as you think.
In fact, we found several properties where you can live like a king or queen for a bargain - with one starting from just a little over £9 per person per night.
Some are within the castle itself, while others are part of the castle's estate, but all offer an incredible taste of history.
Plus, there's a mixture of sizes around.

One of the cheapest around is in Oban, Scotland.
You can stay at the Garden Wing, one of the cottages on the estate, which sleeps up to eight people.
There's a huge garden for barbecues and you'll have access to the castle's walking trails and private beach.
A seven-night stay starts from just £512.
Castle House, Taunton - £12pppn
is situated within a 12th century castle, which had once housed judges and royal courts.
It's great for families - it sleeps up to seven and there are lots of activities on site, including the "Knight School".
A week's stay costs just £605.
Snape Castle, Snape - £20pppn
in Yorkshire was the one-time home of Catherine Parr, one of the wives of Henry VIII.
But now you can stay in a wing known as the Undercroft, which sleeps just four people.
A week in the historic property starts from just £564.
The Old Castle, Stewarton - £51pppn
dates back to the 12th century, with plenty of period features inside.
But it's thoroughly updated inside with modern bathrooms and kitchen, and guests will love the pool table.
The property sleeps up to ten people, with a week's rental coming in at £3,569.
Stanhope Castle, Stanhope - £34pppn
You can book a regal getaway for two at .
Their "cosy cave" is surprisingly modern inside and you'll have access to a hot tub to really kick back and relax.

Pennsylvania Castle, Dorset - £86pppn
For a serious upgrade, head to the 200-year-old , which has hosted the likes of Winston Churchill and King George VI in the past.
As you can imagine, it's pretty impressive inside but the views outside are also stunning.
