In November 2022, an anonymous Instagram account, called Lady Whistledown, posted a series of voice messages from a woman they claimed was Towie star Ferne McCann. The first voice note showed Ferne supposedly making a series of comments about her former best friends Sam and Billie Faiers.

Since the voice notes leaked, Ferne has been very apologetic. In March 2023, she publicly apologised again on This Morning for the scandal.
