First part-human, part-monkey embryo created by scientists sparks outcry
THE FIRST part-human, part-monkey embryo has been created by scientists in California despite ethical concerns.
Researchers have grown human stem cells in monkey embryos to try and better understand how the cells communicate.

The team maintain that their work follows ethical guidelines.
He : "These embryos were destroyed at 20 days of development but it is only a matter of time before human-nonhuman chimeras are successfully developed, perhaps as a source of organs for humans.
"That is one of the long-term goals of this research."
"This poses significant ethical and legal challenges."
In other news, Neuralink the brain implant maker bankrolled by Elon Musk, has unveiled footage of a monkey apparently playing video games with its mind.
Elon Musk's brain chip start-up could begin inserting technology into people's minds later this year.
