Fortnite giant beach balls: Where to bounce a giant beach ball for 14 Days of Summer challenge

FORTNITE'S 14 Days of Summer event is on now, with new challenges every day to net you sweet rewards.

The second challenge wants you to bounce a giant beach ball in different matches but where can you find the summery spheres?

While you need to bounce a ball in five different matches, there's thankfully nothing in the rules that says it has to be different balls.

That's fortunate, because there are only three of them to play with.

Less helpful is quite how mobile they are once they've been bounced, so you'll want to dive straight for one of the starting points as a round kicks off to save yourself hunting the entire map for them.

None of them are in particularly popular - or useful, honestly - landing spots, but still expect something of a bunfight for them as you drop in.

The locations are as follows:

  • Between Loot Lake and The Block - Follow the road between the north shore of Loot Lake and The Block, and you'll find the ball near where the slipstream tube crosses it.
  • West of Dusty Divot - Underneath the floating platforms NW of Salty Springs and W of the lower half of Dusty Divot
  • Paradise Palms - near the road leading from the central building complex to the bridge out of the desert

That's your lot!

As you're doing that you should probably be making progress with the latest challenge too, which involves making kills with the Drum Gun or daily unvaulted weapon, which today is the Burst Assault Rifle.

Get five and you'll be rewarded with a water balloon toy - which you'll need come Monday for challenge #7.

If you haven't completed the day one challenge - Dance at Different Beach Parties - we've marked those locations on the map above for you too.

You can check out the rest of the challenges (and some of the rewards) below.

For day two, the quad rocket launcher was unvaulted and the Use With Care LTM was featured.

There will be a new featured island in Creative every day to boot, along with a new homebase quest every day for Save The World fans.

LTMs will include Heavy Metal Squads, a squad water balloon fight mode called Splashdown, tank battles, a build-focused day and even a return of Wick's bounty.

You can see the rules in full over on Epic's .

Finally, Creative mode is getting a host of prefabs and galleries to celebrate everyone's favourite platonic solid, Kevin the Cube.

The magenta monstrosity wrought havoc and won friends in the dim and distant past that was season 5, and the new additions let you re-create some of that in your own islands.

How much money has Fortnite made so far?

FORTNITE has made more money than any computer game in history.

Since the Battle Royale mode was launched in 2017 it is estimated to have made around £3 billion.

Epic trousered a massive £1.9billion in 2018 from Fornite alone, making it the most successful 12 months for any game in history.

December 2018 saw Fortnite make £300 million, according to third-party analysts SuperData.

Epic doesn't release total month-by-month figures, but third parties have been pretty good at working out the amount spent on individual platforms and combining them.

For instance, players on iPhone and iPad were shelling out £1.25 million every day in 2018 after the iOS launch in March.

The games' popularity seems to have peaked last December, as had been predicted, though Epic may well hope the £30m Fortnite World Cup this summer revives things somewhat.
