Fortnite 9.30 patch notes reveal Chug Splash effects, brings back Solid Gold Squads LTM

EPIC GAMES has revealed the latest Fortnite changes that are arriving in patch 9.30.

The big new addition is the Chug Splash, a "tasty new beverage" that you can use to refresh yourself and the rest of your squad.

Unlike other Fortnite drinks this one is throwable, and boosts the health, shields or downed timer for anyone caught in the blast when it lands.

If you're downed it will refill some of your death countdown to give your allies a bit longer to revive you, if you're low on health it'll give you 20 health, and if you're at full health it'll grant you 20 shields.

This really does apply to anyone caught in the blast too, friend and foe alike.

The six packs of Chug Splash drop in pairs, and you can carry up to six of them.

How much money has Fortnite made so far?

FORTNITE has made more money than any computer game in history.

Since the Battle Royale mode was launched in 2017 it is estimated to have made around £3 billion.

Epic trousered a massive £1.9billion in 2018 from Fornite alone, making it the most successful 12 months for any game in history.

December 2018 saw Fortnite make £300 million, according to third-party analysts SuperData.

Epic doesn't release total month-by-month figures, but third parties have been pretty good at working out the amount spent on individual platforms and combining them.

For instance, players on iPhone and iPad were shelling out £1.25 million every day in 2018 after the iOS launch in March.

The games' popularity seems to have peaked last December, as had been predicted, though Epic may well hope the £30m Fortnite World Cup this summer revives things somewhat.

The new Chug Splash comes as a chuckable six pack that heals anyone in the area where it lands

Shotguns are getting another overhaul too.

The Shotgun Swap Delay, which slows you down when swapping to a shotgun as a way of avoiding their long reload times, now only applies when you're carrying multiple shotguns.

Previously it affected all weapons when carrying at least one shotgun, and Epic says they will "be keeping a close eye on this and make adjustments if necessary."

The Combat Shotgun is getting a nerf, with a 10 per cent reduction to medium-range damage and  a 20 per cent reduction to long-distance damage.

Explosives are also getting a hit, with the Boom Bow and Dynamite both getting vaulted, putting explosives' availability "more in line with where we think they should be".

Creative mode has two new islands, the ability to turn yourself into props for an epic game of hide-and-seek.

When rounds finish, the way information is displayed is changing, with winner screens showing before scoreboards.
